Ryu Jeyoon & Liu Junru Duo Show

2026年4月に中国・成都で開催されたART 021 SPINでは、Ryu Jeyoon & Liu Junru Duo Show　「Between Fernweh & Home」を展示致しました。

韓国出身のRyu Jeyoon（リュ・ジェユン）と、中国出身のLiu Junru（リュウ・ジュンル）は、ともに京都を拠点に活動しています。一見すると表現方法も作品の印象も異なりますが、その創作の根底には、故郷を離れて暮らす中で募る、大切な人への想いや記憶、そして心に刻まれた感情があります。

二人は、それぞれの内面にあるかすかな記憶や感情を静かに手繰り寄せながら、自らのアイデンティティや表現のあり方を探究しています。故郷への想いと、遠くへ向かう憧れ。その二つの感情のあわいに生まれた作品群は、展示タイトル「Between Fernweh & Home」を象徴するものとなりました。

In April 2026, YUMEKOUBOU GALLERY presented Ryu Jeyoon & Liu Junru Duo Show: Between Fernweh & Home at ART021 SPIN in Chengdu, China.

Although Ryu Jeyoon, originally from South Korea, and Liu Junru, originally from China, differ in both their artistic approaches and visual expressions, they are united by a shared foundation: both are artists based in Kyoto whose creative practices are deeply rooted in memories, emotions, and a longing for loved ones while living far from their homelands.

Quietly tracing the fragments of memory and emotion that reside within themselves, each artist explores questions of identity and the nature of artistic expression. Their works emerge from the delicate space between longing for home and the desire to venture into the unknown. This body of work embodies the exhibition's title, Between Fernweh & Home.

Liu Junru　劉峻如（リュウ・ジュンル）

Born in 1999 in Dalian, China, the artist moved to Japan in 2018. She received her BFA in Oil Painting from Kyoto Seika University in 2024 and completed her MFA in Oil Painting at Kyoto City University of Arts in 2026. She currently lives and works in Kyoto. Her practice centers on the motif of the house and the landscapes of memory. Through a process of repeatedly applying and wiping away layers of oil paint, subtle colors accumulate beneath seemingly thin surfaces, creating a space between presence and absence. By rendering houses in geometric and ambiguous forms, she approaches memory as a universal sensation rather than depicting a specic place.

Her work explores how memories of home exist in a vague yet deeply rooted way and invites viewers to recall their own personal experiences and emotional connections with the idea of home.
