加藤巍山 作品集

2026年3月、アートフェア東京にて開催いたしました「加藤巍山展」にご来場いただいた皆様にはすでにご紹介しておりましたが、このたび加藤巍山の作品集が刊行されました。

本書には、これまでに制作・発表されてきた作品群とともに、彼の内奥に息づく世界観が静かに収められています。仏師として正統な彫刻と向き合うとき、そこに主観的な思いや解釈は差し挟まれず、ただひたむきに、連綿と受け継がれてきた価値へと身を委ねる一人の彫刻家としての彼がいます。

一方で、アーティストとして自らの彫刻と向き合うとき、内に秘めた価値観に深い尊厳を与え、その内奥より顕れるかたちを、静かにこの世へと結実させます。

その二つの在りようは、決して乖離することなく、調和のうちに、ほどよい距離を保ちながら響き合っています。

彼が大切にしてきた宇宙観は、本作品集の中に凝縮され、ひとつの静謐な光として立ち現れています。

In March 2026, at Art Fair Tokyo, we had the pleasure of introducing this work to visitors of the “Katoh Gizan Exhibition.” We are pleased to announce that a photographic monograph of Kizan Kato has now been published.

Within this volume, alongside works he has created and presented to date, the inner world that quietly dwells within him is revealed. When he confronts orthodox Buddhist sculpture as a busshi (Buddhist sculptor), no personal interpretation or subjective thought intervenes; rather, he exists as a devoted sculptor who entrusts himself entirely to the values that have been handed down through an unbroken lineage.

Conversely, when he faces his own sculpture as an artist, he grants profound dignity to the values held deep within, giving form to what emerges from his inner being, and allowing it to manifest quietly into the world.

These two aspects of his being are never in conflict; instead, they coexist in harmony, maintaining a gentle and balanced distance while resonating with one another.

The cosmology he has long cherished is distilled within this volume, appearing as a single, serene light.
